KOREAN AND JAPANESE IN POWAI

Origami Fine Dine opened in Supreme business park, Powai is especially focusing on Japanese and Korean cuisine. It is not an Indian mix but authentic cuisine. The Executive chef Mr Vaibhav Shingre at origami knows how to please the customers according to their taste buds. He made sure that we like the authenticity of the Japanese and Korean cuisine and it was perfect.

I am not a sushi person and after a lot of tries at different places I have come up to a conclusion that I just can’t have it. That being said, Japanese and Korean have a lot more to offer than just sushi. Coming to food now :

KIMCHI JJIGAE – SOUP – ( V-400 INR /VN-450 INR )

They have a very famous side dish called kimchi which they have with every meal. The soup’s main ingredient is kimchi, the taste is tangy which might not be uptight for you’re taste buds for the first hit but it takes a bit of time to settle time. If you are a tomato soup lover then this might just be the next soup for you.

TEMPURA MORIAWASE – STARTER – ( 700 INR)

Recommended Dish
It’s a prawn dish which is deep fried and is super crunchy. When you take a bit you get the feel of crunchiness and even the sound comes as an effect which is shown in the Advertisements. You are served with a sauce which compliments it well, even if you have it without the sauce it still tastes great.

SUSHI

MAKI VEG – SHITAKE MUSHROOM – ( 400 INR )

NIGIRI SUSHI – SALMON – ( 300 INR )

PRAWNS TEMPURA ROLL – ( 650 INR )

Sushi is a Japanese dish consisting of small balls or rolls of vinegar-flavoured cold rice served with a garnish of vegetables, egg, or raw seafood.

NIGIRI SALMON SUSHI is a raw fish cut and decorated on top of sticky rice in shape of a fish. looked really cute. Well, I am not a sushi person but if you are then be sure to have it with the right sauce and if not sure about it do ask the chef or the management about it. They are super cute and helpful.

NOODLES – YAKI SOBA – ( 550 INR )

Sticky spicy noodles made with chicken, squid and pork. We tried the chicken Yaki Soba with some mix vegetables. It’s a bit different in taste than the usual noodles you have had for sure.

APPETIZER – KKANPUNGGI – ( 500 INR )

The only dish which is 2% close to the Indian taste in the whole menu was this chicken made in spicy red Korean sauce which was a bit Indian.
